Established on April 1st, 1984, Tom Powell, the principal owner, began operations by focusing on truck insurance for the transportation industry. As opportunities presented themselves the agency grew and established offices in San Jose and Bakersfield. (Future office expansion includes the community of Modesto.)

Over the years Cal-Valley diversified itself to the extent that the agency is now offering insurance products to industries other than trucking - ie. contractors, apartment complex owners, farmers, restaurants and small business owners. Additionally, Cal-Valley developed a vast array of products in personal lines for individual households and group life and health benefits for the business owner.

Recognizing that market conditions continue to change in the California business climate Cal-Valley management helped orchestrate the formation of a networking arrangement with 7 other independent insurance agencies. The network or "cluster" name is PacWest Alliance Insurance Services, Inc. By interacting with other agencies of like mind it has afforded Cal-Valley the benefits gained by leveraging significant premium volume into tremendous coverage and premium opportunities for Cal-Valley clients. The alliance with the "cluster" also will allow the agency to maintain a stable future in a formidable California economic environment.
